Cueva de las Manos (Cave of Hands) and Caracoles Canyon

Embark on a journey back in time at the Cueva de las Manos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk along the same paths as our nomadic ancestors thousands of years ago. Be mesmerized by the otherworldly landscapes of the Caracoles Canyon.

· We will cross the Pinturas canyon on foot to enter its landscapes and appreciate its depth.

· After visiting the ancient cave paintings of the Cueva de las Manos archaeological site (UNESCO), we will continue to the El Cóndor viewpoint, where lunch is a picnic sheltered from the wind with spectacular panoramic views of the Pinturas Canyon.

· On the way back, we’ll stop at the new Portal Cañadón Caracoles, immersed in a gigantic crevice where it is possible to go hiking and see iconic climbing sites.

· 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
· Includes Sprinter transfer, entrance ticket to the Cueva de las Manos Provincial Park, local guides, lunch (box lunch), and recreational activities at the Cañadón Caracoles campground.

The Rewilding Experience

Experience rewilding first-hand: in this outing we'll visit the El Unco biological station to meet the conservation team dedicated to recovering the habitats and native wildlife of the Patagonian steppe, and search for fauna with the help of a guide.

· We’ll travel along Route 40 towards the El Unco biological station, where Rewilding Argentina’s conservation team will share the work they have been doing in the park since 2018 to restore its environments, recover populations of native species, and reintroduce locally extinct species.

· The experience continues with a guided tour of the wildlife reintroduction enclosures, a picnic in the fabulous Caracoles Canyon, and an exciting search for wild animals with the help of a specialized guide.

· 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
· Includes transfer in a Sprinter, lunch (box lunch), introductory talk about rewilding work, guided tour of the reintroduction areas, and a 2-hour guided excursion of medium difficulty to search for wildlife with the company of a guide.

Tierra de Colores (Land of Colors Trail), Planetarium, and Trekking the Panoramic Circuit

See otherworldly rock formations and colors. Discover the human history of Patagonia and the starry sky at the Planetarium and Interpretation Center. Be amazed by the diversity of landscapes, flora, and fauna offered by the Panoramic Circuit.

· We will start at Tierra de Colores, a short and accessible trail that runs through landscapes of striking shapes and colors.

· At the Interpretation Center and Planetarium, located inside the Portal, the interactive rooms will tell us about human evolution, the biodiversity crisis and rewilding, and reveal the Patagonian sky before visiting the artisanal products store.

· Then we head on foot to the La Señalada bar, where we will have a picnic lunch sheltered from the wind with a view of the omnipresent Chato hill.

· Here begins the Panoramic Circuit, a spectacular route of medium difficulty along the Cañadón Pinturas, Los Balcones and La Vertiente trails, which brings us back to La Señalada.

· 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
· Includes transfer by Sprinter, hiking with an interpreter guide throughout the tour, lunch (box lunch), experience at the Interpretation Center and Planetarium.

Charcamata Eave: A Trip to the Past

Travel to the past through the ancient rock art of the Charcamata Eave, an important archaeological site located within a private ranch.

· The experience begins with a 4×4 truck ride through the stunning landscapes of the private ranch that contains the site. We’ll wade through the Pinturas River before reaching the parking lot, from where the experience continues on foot.

· A 1-hour, low-difficulty trek through the Charcamata Canyon takes us into history with the presence of the first paintings and remains of hearths. Once at the site, we will be able to contemplate the rock art without barriers and listen to an interpretive talk about the motifs that predominate at this site, given by a local guide.

· After lunch sheltered under the imposing eave, we return to the vehicle and to La Posta de Los Toldos.

· 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
